CAMPLUS flagship project of CMAtlv
The CAMPLUS project aims to provide, in camps where refugees and displaced persons are located, the skills necessary to transform these places into learning territories through the empowerment, training and support of 180 managers of concrete projects.
1. ORIGINS
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
There are, for various reasons (political, religious, conflictual, climatic and persecution), refugees and displaced persons residing in different parts of the world. During their stay in the camps, these people face several problems, including problems of isolation, unemployment, poor health, lack of human resources and many other obstacles that arise in the region of origin. There is therefore a need to address these issues through projects of all kinds, with a social vocation, complementary to each other to recover from these situations (resilience) and move on to the reconstruction phase. The Covid-19 crisis has increased difficulties and inequalities such as midlife, lack of digital resources and skills, which are aggravating factors to be taken into account.
In the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), the Polytechnic University of Erbil (EPU) aims to launch a project in collaboration with European partners to help vulnerable people in the camps to take concrete and positive actions.
The UPR has requested the human and material support of the World Committee for Lifelong Learning (CMAtlv) to support this valuable cause. Together, they decided to plan a strategic European project that will be submitted to ERASMUS + in March 2021.
Due to the importance of the task, this project is looking for an additional partnership with other European organizations who will bring their experience and capacities to improve and enrich the project, and enrich themselves by it.
There is a will among the initial partners to:
Benefit from lessons learned from previous projects, such as the School of Resilience for example, which were carried out in the Duhok camps in KRI;
Benefit from other experiences and research work carried out by European partners or by other organizations;
Benefit from implementation programs such as the soft skills recognition system adopted by the European Open Badges.
